Solution against street urination
UriLift - The Problem
In virtually every town and village with an entertainment district, indiscriminate urination is a serious social problem. On the one hand this is due to the lack of decent public toilets, and on the other hand the partygoers and clubbers take the easy option, relieving themselves indiscriminately in unacceptable places.
Nuisance and senseless violence
Retailers and local residents have to put up with the (odour) nuisance that indiscriminate urination produces. Buildings get damaged. And whoever confronts an offender about his behaviour risks provoking an aggressive reaction. More and more often, indiscriminate urination is a direct cause of senseless violence. As part of a zero-tolerance policy, law and order enforcers have their hands full simply issuing warnings or fines and preventing or calming the aggressive behaviour of offenders and passers-by. It is ultimately the local council that has to pick up the bill. Law and order enforcement, loss of goodwill and repairing damage all costs money.
Vicious circle
Enough public toilets would seem to be the solution to the problem. But where do you put them? They are a blot on the urban landscape, are disliked by retailers and local residents, need to be attended to and maintained and are a target for graffiti and vandals. What's more, they are there all the time. Even when they're not needed. And that's the problem!

UriLift - The solution
The Urilift breaks this vicious circle. A unique and innovative, ultra-modern solution that pays for itself in the short, medium and long term. It is the first and only public toilet that does exactly what is needed:
reduces nuisance
prevents aggression
eliminates vandalism
respects the street landscape
saves money
The Urilift is placed where it is needed: at hot spots in entertainment districts, for instance. Three people can use the urinals in the attractively styled stainless steel cylinder at the same time without seeing or being bothered by each other. The Urilift is only above ground when it is needed. For the rest of the time, it is completely hidden underground.
The Urilift takes its name from the company that invented it, Urilift BV. This company has a wealth of experience in public sanitary facilities and is the patent holder for the Urilift. We not only provide this unique solution to the problem of indiscriminate urination, but also work extremely closely with our clients. This means that we can provide the right solution to match every individual need, even in the long term.
Semi-permanent
The Urilift is only above ground during peak times. At all other times it is underground. When streets and squares are renewed or redesigned, the Urilift can be moved quickly and easily to any other desired location.
Clever design
The Urilift can accommodate three people. The ultra-modern design makes the structure not only practical but attractive too. The cylinder blends into the street landscape and doesn't detract from it in any way.
The right place
The construction and semi-permanent character of the Urilift makes it possible to install it at any desired location. Not down some dark alleyway, but in the middle of entertainment hot spots, for instance, so that partygoers can use it in complete safety.
Vandalism-proof
The cylindrical structure is made from thick and durable stainless steel designed to last a lifetime. Unnecessary elements have been done away, making the Urilift completely vandalism-proof.
Street cover
Once the Urilift is underground, all that remains visible in the pavement is the circular cover. These covers are designed to withstand traffic class 45 and come in 200 colours. If desired the existing paving can be used to achieve a fully integrated result.
Virtually no control and maintenance required
The Urilift needs virtually no maintenance. It is self-cleaning, unnecessary elements have been done away with, and the material used is strong, rounded and smooth. Outside peak times the Urilift is underground and does not need to be attended to at all. Urilift BV takes care of maintenance and relocation, if required.
Easy
The attendant on duty has a remote control to operate the Urilift. A simple press of the button is all that's needed to bring it above ground, or to make it disappear underground again. Organisations such as the local sanitation department, the police, security firms or hotels, restaurants and bars could be given the job of carrying out this simple procedure.
Drains
The urinals and drain in the Urilift are connected to the mains sewer, so that interim cleaning is unnecessary. The Urilift can be used for an unlimited length of time without causing any odour nuisance whatsoever.
Water
The Urilift is connected to the water mains but can also be supplied with a water tank, or without water. The water tank operates on an ecosystem that is filled automatically with rainwater.
Electricity
The Urilift is connected to the electricity mains, so that it can be lighted and heated. The lighting ensures that the Urilift is easy to find and safe to use, while the heating prevents the Urilift from freezing up so that it can be used in the winter too.
Short decision-making process
Retailers and local residents hardly ever object to the Urilift, because it is only above ground during the busiest times. That makes the choice of location much less complicated. A fast-track construction procedure is possible. The Urilift can be installed quickly without causing any significant nuisance to local residents.
Cost-saving
The Urilift saves money. Three persons can urinate simultaneously in the Urilift, which hardly ever requires any attention or maintenance. Vandalism and graffiti are eliminated. The attendant on duty needs no training to operate the Urilift. Law and order enforcers and the police spend less of their valuable time having to sort out problems on the street.
